Medication Refill Policy

At Magnolia Health, our goal is to ensure the safe and timely management of all prescription medications. To help us serve you efficiently and maintain the highest standard of care, please review our medication refill policy below.

Refill Request Timing

  • All medication refill requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of when the medication is needed.
  • Requests made on weekends or holidays will be addressed on the next business day.
  • Same-day refill requests cannot be guaranteed and may result in delays.

How to Request a Refill

You may request a refill in one of the following ways:
  1. Through your pharmacy: Ask your pharmacy to send an electronic refill request.
  2. Patient Portal: Submit a refill request through our secure patient portal.
  3. Phone Message: Call our office and follow the prompts to leave a message for a medication refill.

Important Guidelines

  • Appointments may be required: For medications that require monitoring (e.g., controlled substances, psychiatric medications, or chronic condition treatments), you may need a follow-up visit before the prescription is renewed.
  • No refills for expired prescriptions: If you have not been seen recently, you may be asked to schedule an appointment before your medication is refilled.
  • Controlled Substances: Controlled medication refills are subject to stricter regulations and may require additional documentation, verification, and compliance with DEA guidelines.

Emergency or After-Hours Requests

  • We do not process refill requests outside of regular business hours.
  • In the case of a medication-related emergency, please visit your nearest urgent care or emergency room.

Patient Responsibility

  • It is your responsibility to monitor your medication supply and request refills with enough time to prevent lapses.
  • Please bring an up-to-date list of your medications to each visit and notify us of any changes made by other providers.
