School Placement for EL Students
This process should also be followed when a new English Learner (EL) student enrolls in the district and needs placement in the appropriate EL program.
Note: This process applies specifically to K–5 students, as middle and high school students will typically attend their assigned geographical school.
This process can also be used when a current student moves and needs to transfer to a different school within the district.

5Making assignment decisions
Kindergarten will more than likely be the deciding factor in school placement.
Assignment decisions are reviewed yearly as the student population fluctuates, causing a change in the quantity of students at each school.
The Chief Academic & SEL Officer determines the placement of students from the data acquired.
The overflow chart is finalized in late July or early August.
