EL Change of Language Program

    The following information details the process that must be followed in order to change a student's EL Program Placement.

      Parent or guardian request change of language program

      The parent or guardian must contact Felix Santiago or Samantha Delgado at Central Office (CO) to request a change of placement.

      Parent or guardian signs documents to update language program

      No student’s schedule change or EL placement can proceed without official authorization from Felix Santiago or Samantha Delgado

      This step is essential for compliance with State policies.

      Upon completion of documents

      Data Specialist or Bilingual Dept. OP will update:
      1. SIS
      2. Language Program

      Data Specialist or Bilingual Dept. OP will notify:
      1. Building Secretary
      2. Teacher
      3. Interventionist
      4. Counselor, if applicable
      5. State Reporting Specialist
      6. SIS Coordinator
    4. 4

      Update

      Upon receiving official notification from the Multilingual Office at Central Office, the student's schedule can be updated to reflect the new language program requested by the parent or guardian.

      Review

      Student data must match: 
      1. SIS
      2. State
      3. Schedule
      4. Most recent EL placement form in the student's red folder
