Follow this process to identify which Kindergarten English-speaking students will be enrolled in the Dual Language Two-Way Immersion program
New kindergarten student enrollment only.
22 total spots available for Dual Language English speakers
Seats are only available at Seth Whitman Elementary School (SWES) and Lincoln Elementary School (LES).

2Roles Included

- Must be 5 by September 1st of that school year.

3Planning Phase ( February to March)
- Director of Bilingual Education
- Host an informational meeting with the Chief Academic & SEL Officer
- Parent(s) or Guardian(s)
- Should attend the meeting and ensure to remain throughout the entire session of the Dual Language Information discussion.

4Registration (April)
- Parent(s) or Guardian(s)
- While completing the kindergarten registration application for fall enrollment via the enrollment portal:
- The parent or guardian must indicate their interest in the Dual Language Two-Way Immersion Program.
- If the family already has a student enrolled in the Dual Language program, they must list the name(s) of the other child(ren) to be eligible for sibling preference.
- The parent or guardian must indicate their interest in the Dual Language Two-Way Immersion Program.

5Post Registration (May 1st-7th)
- Director of Bilingual Education
- Multilingual Office Professional
- Once the registration window closes and the registrars have had time to process the applications.
- Data will be extracted from the enrollment portal to identify which families have expressed interest in the Dual Language Two-Way Immersion Program.
- For Dual Language consideration, the student's registration must be complete.
- All documents need to be submitted and approved by the Registration Department.

6Priority Assignment
- New potential Dual Language students with a sibling already enrolled in the Dual Language program will have priority and will be automatically enrolled in the same school as their sibling, unless otherwise noted.
- SWES and LES homeschool students receive the next priority. These students will be entered into a lottery if necessary.
- All other schools will be entered into a lottery for any open spots at either school.
- If a family resides outside of the school zone, and as long as they are within district boundaries, they must provide their own transportation should a seat be available and they accept entry into the program.
*All families receive a letter to notify them of their acceptance (sibling) or lottery entrance. -
7Before Lottery Day

- Determine the number of seats available for the lottery.
- 22 minus the number of siblings given priority.
- Determine which school's lottery each student will be entered into.
- Assign a random number to each student.
- Enter those numbers into a random selection tool.

8Lottery Day
- Director of Bilingual Education
- Multilingual Office Professional
- Record the event.
- Begin the lottery process by stating the number of seats available.
- Start the random selection tool to begin selecting numbers for seat assignments.
- All numbers will be selected.
- Once seats are full, the remaining numbers will be the order for the waitlist.

9Post Lottery Day
- Director of Bilingual Education
- Multilingual Office Professional
- Parent(s) or Guardian(s)
- Send letters and emails to all families after the lottery to inform them of their status.
- Should a student have a seat, the parent(s) or guardian(s) need to sign and return their acceptance letter to the Multilingual Department.
- Send the list of confirmed Dual Language students to the building secretaries and student services for proper placement.
