Step 3: Rename the QBWUSER.INI File

This file stores your QuickBooks settings. If it’s corrupt, QuickBooks won’t open.

1. Press Windows + R
2. Type %AppData%\Intuit\QuickBooks and press Enter
3. Right-click the file named QBWUSER.ini > Rename
4. Add “.old” at the end (e.g., QBWUSER.ini.old)
5. Restart QuickBooks

This forces QuickBooks to reset startup settings.
