Unsatisfactory Performance for Substitute Teachers SOP

    1. 1

      Concern Is Brought Forward

A concern is brought forward to the designated administrator (by a student, parent, staff member, etc.). complete the 5.220 Exhibit of Unsatisfactory Performance for Substitute Teacher form.

If not of an egregious nature, the concern is communicated by the building principal and/or designee to the substitute teacher, the Chief of Human Resources Officer (CHRO), and District Substitute Coordinator.

This concern and level of communication is documented in some fashion (see potential form above/Exhibit).

If the concern is egregious in nature the building administrator will communicate with the CHRO, but not the teacher until further action has been decided.

    2. 2

      Minor Concern

Principal should document it, communicate it with District Substitute Coordinator and CHRO and continue to monitor to see if there are further issues.

After multiple minor infractions (that could be different in nature) the building administrator should have a conversation with District Substitute Coordinator and the CHRO about possible restrictions for that sub at the given location and or district wide.
    3. 3

      Egregious Concern

The substitute would be banned from subbing in all schools in District 100 and CHRO would make the contact/follow up with that substitute teacher.
