How do I assign a Process as a Task to an Employee?

The instructions below will show you how to assign a process as a task to an employee. Note: only users with manager level access can assign tasks to others.

With the assign as task feature, you can schedule tasks to occur on a one-time, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or even yearly basis.

  1. 1

Select the Process and Assign the Task

Click on the Process and then click on the "Assign as Task" in the process which you want to assign to your employee as a task.

  2. 2

    Select Your Assignees

Once you initiate the "Assign Task" flow for a Process (e.g., Customer Support Process), follow these steps in the Assignees tab:
    1. Set Assignment Logic: Use the dropdown to choose how the task is handled (e.g., "Teammates assigned together").
    2. Add Teammates: In the "Assign to teammates"field, type and select the user(s).
      • Note: You can also use the shortcuts to + assign to team or + assign to role for broader distribution.
    3. Permissions (Optional): Check the "Assign with read-only permission" box if the assignee should view the process without being able to check off steps.
    4. Advanced Layout: If the process involves specific lanes, you can check "Assign to steps and lanes."
    5. Click Next >.

    Configure Due Date and Schedule

In the final section, Due Date and Recurring, define the task parameters:

    2. Set Deadline: * Select the Due datefrom the calendar.
      • Specify a Due time (the system will automatically adjust to your local timezone, e.g., Asia/Calcutta).
      • Optional: Click "Add start time" if the task should not be visible or active until a specific moment.
    3. Set Frequency: Under the Repeat dropdown, choose if this is a one-time task ("Once Only") or if it should recur daily, weekly, or monthly.
    4. Finalize: Review the Task Repetition summary and click the teal Assign Task > button.
