Mandatory Reporting - Suspicion of Harm

    If educators have concerns about the safety of a child, they will follow the below steps:

    As a first point of call or if you need support, please reach out to our Child Safety Capo 
    • Perth School is Mrs Katylan (Education Leader), or in her absence, Miss Adeline; and 
    • Fremantle School is Mrs Lisa (School Director)

    Record your concerns in a non-judgmental and accurate manner as soon as possible

    -ensure these are factual and are absent of emotions

    Record your own observations as well as precise details of any discussion with a parent

    -For example, following a discussion with a parent, they may explain a noticeable mark on a child
    -Do not endeavour to conduct your own investigations

    Document as soon as possible so the details are accurate

    These must include: 
    • child’s personal details (name, address, DOB, details of siblings) 
    • time, date and place of the suspicion  
    • full details of the suspected abuse 
    • date of report and signature.
