Getting the Course Audio or Podcast's on Your Phone

Want to listen to the course or podcast episodes on your phone? Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as downloading them on iTunes. (There's not a good way to do that without giving everybody free access to the course.)

Just follow the steps below. I used an iPhone for this tutorial. If you're struggling with a different device, try googling "download MP3 onto [insert your device here]." If you're still struggling, email us at support@equalrightsinstitute.com and we'll help you out.
  1. 1

Download the MP3(s) onto your computer's hard drive

If you're wanting the MP3 versions of the course videos, you can download them all in a zip folder from the Welcome page, or pick and choose which files you want by downloading them under the videos on the lesson pages. The podcast MP3's are posted on their own pages on the website.

Right-click the file and "save target as" and then select the folder you want to keep them in. You might create a folder on your desktop or "My Music" folder called "Equipped for Life," for example.
  2. 2

Connect your phone to your computer

  3. 3

    If necessary, start iTunes manually

  4. 4

Click on your phone icon in iTunes

  5. 5

Add a new playlist on your phone for these files

This will make them easier to access on your phone. You might even want to have separate playlists for the course MP3's and the podcast episodes.
  6. 6

Make sure you can see the Equipped for Life MP3(s) you want to move onto your computer

You may need to open up a Windows Explorer window (PC) or a Finder window (Mac) with the files.
  7. 7

Drag and drop the MP3's into your new playlists in iTunes

  8. 8

Eject your phone from iTunes before unplugging it

  9. 9

    Open your Music app

  10. 10

If you put the files in a playlist, click on the Playlists button at the top, next to Library

  11. 11

Locate the file you want to listen to, and play it

  12. 12

Last, please don't share these files with people who haven't paid for the course.

We made these MP3's available to download because we knew it would make the course a lot more helpful for people who prefer to listen on their phone. We know we're taking a risk that a student intending to be altruistic will just post everything on the web. We're just asking you not to do that. We're a non-profit, and this course was very expensive to produceĀ and continues to be expensive to maintain and expand. We will continue posting free content on our blog, but this content is reserved for the people who are helping fund our work by paying for our best stuff. Thanks for understanding. :)
