(6600-T-P) Optima Professional Development Certification Program (PDCP) - Program Candidate Description

Responsibilities
As both the teacher of record and adult learner, each participant in the Professional Development Certification Program (PDCP) must be self-directed and capable of being productive within a flexible learning environment.  As with any new career, the ongoing professional training will be imminently challenging to the teacher/participant. In addition to the multiple responsibilities of an educator with total immersion into a high standards program of content and assessment, it will, at times, be overwhelming.   However, you will be given highly effective strategies to become better at your craft.  This program will be an intense teacher/participant training to include maneuvering through a new job, a full family life, and performance expectations of an on-the-job professional training in the PDCP.

In spite of the demands from the PDCP,  participants will have a unique advantage over the traditionally trained teacher—you will be engaged in a highly dynamic learning experience within the “real-time” clinical laboratory of your own classroom. The positive results of each newly acquired skill can be evidenced immediately through practical application.  As a participant, you have the advantage of an on-going mentor, leadership team, and coaching staff filled with advice.  This is readily available from the Support Team where you will share your successes and opportunities for growth with other colleagues.  Your mentor is there to help with low morale from isolation and to promote the sense of teamwork that builds professional collaboration throughout the school’s organizational culture.
