National Quality Framework (NQF) & Quality Standards (NQS)

Scope

This policy applies to all employees of the Akidamy who are involved in early childhood education and care services. The policy is aimed at ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) developed by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

Audience

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and representatives of the Akidamy who work in the early childhood education and care sector.

Overview of National Quality Framework (NQF)

The NQF is a legislative framework implemented in Australia to regulate the provision of early childhood education and care services. It sets out the standards and guidelines that service providers must adhere to in order to promote the safety, health, and wellbeing of children in their care. The NQF includes the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, and the National Quality Standard (NQS).

Adherence to the National Quality Framework (NQF)

All employees of the Akidamy must comply with the requirements of the NQF, as outlined in the legislation, regulations, and NQS. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring the provision of a safe and healthy environment for children;
  • Maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios;
  • Implementing educational programs that meet the developmental needs of children;
  • Monitoring and documenting children's progress and development;
  • Establishing effective communication and collaboration with families;
  • Implementing effective policies and procedures for child protection and wellbeing;
  • Complying with all reporting and record-keeping obligations;
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and training.

ACECQA Accreditation

The Akidamy is committed to maintaining ACECQA accreditation for its early childhood education and care services. This accreditation signifies that our services are meeting the required standards outlined in the NQF. All employees must actively contribute to maintaining this accreditation by adhering to the NQF requirements and participating in any necessary training or process improvements.

Non-Compliance and Consequences

Any employee found to be in violation of the NQF requirements or failing to adhere to this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Non-compliance with the NQF may also result in legal consequences and damage to the Akidamy's reputation.

In cases where an employee requires additional guidance or support in meeting the NQF requirements, the Akidamy will provide necessary resources, training, or mentoring to assist the employee in achieving compliance.
