This checklist covers the basic tasks that you should do every day to clean your kitchen such as washing dishes, putting away food, wiping surfaces, cleaning spills, disinfecting counters, wiping out the sink, emptying the dishwasher, taking out the trash, and sweeping the floor. By following this checklist, you can prevent food contamination, avoid pest infestation, and maintain a pleasant and hygienic environment for cooking and eating. This checklist does not cover the tasks that you should do weekly or monthly to clean your kitchen deeply.

    Clean the Dishes and Cookware After Your Meal

    Wash the dishes and cookware with dish soap and hot water by hand or in the dishwasher. Rinse them thoroughly and let them dry on their own, or use a dry towel to wipe them.

    Store the Dishes Away

    Put the dishes and cookware in their proper places such as racks, drawers, or cabinets. Ensure they are completely dry before storing them to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

    Store the Leftover Food

    Move any leftover food from pots or plates to sealed containers and write the date on them. Refrigerate or freeze them quickly to keep their freshness and quality.

    Wipe Countertops

    To effectively clean the countertops and remove any crumbs, grease, or stains, use a versatile cleaning solution and a damp cloth or sponge. Rinse the cloth or sponge often and squeeze it out well.

    Clean Up Any Spills

    Use paper towels or a cloth to dab any spills on the table, stove, oven, floor, or other surfaces. Then use a cleaner suitable for the surface to wipe it clean and dry it with a towel.

    Disinfect Kitchen Counters

    Spray a disinfectant solution on the kitchen counters and let it sit for a few minutes to kill germs or bacteria. Next, remove the cleaning solution by wiping the surface with a paper towel or cloth.

    Wipe Out and Clean the Sink After Each Use
